The sharpshooter excels at dispatching priority targets quickly and precisely. This build however, will look at the support capabilities of the veteran, and the powerful effects a close range Veteran can bring with a high powered plasma gun.
Using the Assault Chainsword for it’s high damage, it can easily eliminate all enemies. The Plasma Gun is the ideal weapon to pair with the Chainsword for quickly killing elites at any time. If you don’t like the Assault Chainsword, consider using the Power Sword. Either option fills the roll of a melee clearing weapon that is effective at dealing with both hordes and elites. Keep your ability ready if you get stuck, or need to run for a quick revive on downed allies, this skill can be extremely useful when used at the right time.

The melee option of this build is interchangeable. The Chain Sword or the Power Sword will both perform well here. The Chainsword was chosen as it compliments the Plasma Gun nicely, but also because I didin’t want to keep using the Power Sword in all my builds.
Savage Sweep, paired with Rampage, activate based on the same criteria. Hitting at least 3 enemies in a swing. Ideally you’ll be using your heavy attack as often as possible when surrounded by at least 3 enemies. This makes clearing hordes really efficient and effortless. Being able to get both of these bonuses active during hordes will also make dealing with melee elites much easier.
Unarmored and Flak modifiers cover most enemy type you’ll deal with in melee during hordes. Flak helps covered some armored enemy types as needed.

The Plasma Gun is a great choice for a ranged weapon, as it is a high damage, long range tool to erase big enemies and all ranged elites. As a support role, you’ll use your plasma gun to get rid of key enemy elites that could threaten your team before they get a chance. Its also great for Ogryns and Monstrosities with its really high damage.
Rising Heat and Gets Hot! both scale on the same resource, heat generation of your range weapon. Both your damage, and your critical chance/damage increase directly based on your heat levels. Ideally, fire your weapon while at high heat to deal extra damage.
Maniacs and Unyielding are both problematic enemy types, this makes dealing extra damage to them with a high powered weapon what makes the most sense.

Curios are really flexible, with only a couple perks that really benefit builds. In this case, Health can be substituted for Toughness if required, but health is still recommended. You will want at least 1 Curio to have 1 Wounds on it, wounds increase the amount of health bars you have. This is beneficial, especially on higher difficulties, as it allows some leeway if mistakes happen, or you get overwhelmed.
Stamina Regen is really important and should be the only modifier you go for one each Curio you use. Damage resistance vs Gunners is one of the best types of resistances to have, as Gunners can come in groups of multiples and can easily eliminate you or members of your team. Another option is damage resistance against Snipers, as in higher difficulties, having at least 1 resistance can be the difference between going down or not.
