VETERAN

MONSTER HUNTER

This Monster Hunter build excels at dispatching priority targets quickly with overwhelming damage. Using the Boltgun, your job is to eliminate all elites and specials as quickly as possible. When you encounter a monstrocity, unload the entire clip into it for maximum damage. Your ability is best used anytime you are around your team, or need to get a revive. Knock back all enemies and refill your toughness immediately for more breathing room.
When required, use your melee weapon, the Power Sword, as it is very much a formidable weapon, especially when using it’s ability, which you should as often as you can. If you have the Power Cycle perk, you’ll notice the difference with additional attacks before the ability turns off. For hordes, the Shredder grenade will very quickly eliminate all enemies, but don’t feel the need to use them immediately unless you get overwhelmed.

WEAPONS

The Boltgun is a slow firing, inaccurate but heavy hitting machine. Because of this, the Power Sword fits as the most ideal, and easily suitable melee weapon to have.

With it’s perks, Power Cycler allows additional attacks with its alternative attack mode. The Power Sword’s alternative attack is an electrified, high cleave and high damage attack. Without this perk, you only get 1 swing between activations. With Power Cycler, you can much needed additional attacks without needing to reactivate the alternative mode.

Brutal Momentum is great, and ideal for both cutting through hordes easily, and increasing damage against elites. While it increases weakspot damage for elites, when it comes to hordes, hitting the weakspot will ignore the hit mass of enemies, so you can cut through more targets at once.

Carapace and Unyielding cover a wide range of enemy types that make out the more annoying enemy types to deal with.

The Boltgun will be the main weapon used to deal with all Elite, Special, Ogryn enemies, and lastly, Monstrosities. This weapon can be pretty inaccurate with sustained fire, so get close to the target, or stand back and take one shot at a time. This weapon does high damage, and can easily stagger smaller targets.

Surgical is really helpful for dealing with elites at range, just aim for a second to get 50% increased critical chance.(or 2 seconds when you can to get 100% instead). Mainly, you dont need to be standing there aiming forever, it’s very quick, and you get the benefit quickly.
Cavalcade is amazing for Ogryns or Monstrosities, as you increase your critical chance as you empty the mag with continuous fire. In short, empty the mag into the big bad guy and dont stop until you’re out of ammo.

Flak and Unyielding enemies make the most sense for this weapon and they are either armored, or in your face, either way, a big powerful range weapon is ideal. Monstrosities take huge amounts of damage from a weapon like this.

CURIOS

x3

Curios are really flexible, with only a couple perks that really benefit builds. In this case, some Toughness can be substituted for Stamina if required, but Toughness is still recommended. You might want at least 1 Curio to have 1 Wounds on it, wounds increase the amount of health bars you have. This is beneficial, especially on higher difficulties, as it allows some leeway if mistakes happen, or you get overwhelmed.
Stamina Regen is really important and should be the only modifier you go for one each Curio you use. Damage resistance vs Gunners is one of the best types of resistances to have, as Gunners can come in groups of multiples and can easily eliminate members of your team. Another recommendation is Sniper resistance, for instances that catch you offguard. Having one of these resistances can make the difference between going down and surviving.
