PSYKER

MELEE

The Melee build is geared towards taking down enemies in close proximity very quickly using the greatsword, and as needed, the bolt pistol. The Force Greatsword is your main tool that you’ll use in your build rotation, keeping your attacks up as fast as possible to maintain shred, which in turn maintains blazing spirit. This build is different than other Psyker build, in the sense that you are now focused at staying in the thick of battle, rather then picking off priority targets. While this build would still be fine with a VoidStrike staff, I found better results using a bolt pistol to fill the role of a front line assault battle mage. The skills this build use all focus on doing as much damage as possible as fast as possible. Use your skills freely to fill your roll as a melee psyker as much as possible..

WEAPONS

One of the strongest melee weapons for the Psyker, the Force  Greatsword is versatile and comes with some amazing perk combinations.

For blessing with this build, Shred and Blazing Spirit are 2 great perks to have. Having increased critical hit chance just by hitting enemies with consecutive attacks makes for a pretty devastating weapon. The more critical hits, the faster the enemy dies. Playing into critical hits, Blazing Spirit applies stacks of soulblaze on enemies when you get criticals. Alongsie Shred which increases critical chances on it own, the 2 pair very nicely together.

For perks, Carapace cover the big armored enemy types that you might engage in melee range, but to apply more blazing spirits, we try to get more critical hit chance.

Instead of the regular staff, this build uses the Bolt Pistol, a high damage weapon that is easy to draw. While you can use a void staff, while you’re in melee range the large majority of the time, it’s not always ideal to take a staff out to charge.

Deadly Accurate is great for double the critical weak spot damage, if you can get a lucky crit here and there, great. However, thanks to Surgical, you dont need to wait or hope for a crit. Aiming for 3 seconds will give a guaranteed critical hit, every time. Now obviously, sitting and aiming for 3 seconds is not always possible, its best used when engaging a new group of enemies to pick off one or two priority targets.

Perks include damage increases against Maniacs and Flak to cover a good amount of armored targets you might need to pick off.

CURIOS

x3

Curios are really flexible, with only a couple perks that really benefit builds. In this case, Toughness can be substituted for Health if required, but Toughness is still recommended. You might want at least 1 Curio to have 1 Wounds on it, wounds increase the amount of health bars you have. This is beneficial, especially on higher difficulties, as it allows some leeway if mistakes happen, or you get overwhelmed.
Stamina Regen is really important and should be the only modifier you go for one each Curio you use. Combat ability regen is great to keep up your offensive ability. Since you’ll be up in the thick of the fight, taking some Gunner resistance can come in very handy to survive some barrages or give you time to reach cover.
