A traditional sword and board build with a split focus between the Soldier and Oathkeeper classes. This build uses Physical and Trauma damage to defeat enemies. These damage types bypass many enemies that rely on elemental or Pierce resistances, making the build very strong in the early game. With the right gear and skill choices, it remains highly effective in the late game as well.
Both Soldier and Oathkeeper skills play important roles in this build. While leveling, you can comfortably place just one point into most skills, investing additional points into key abilities such as Righteous Fervor or Blitz to increase offensive power. Overguard becomes especially valuable once the appropriate gear is acquired, providing increased health regeneration and additional damage.
Passive and buff skills only require a few points and do not need heavy investment. Once the Mastery Bar is completed, shift your focus to Oleron’s Rage and aim to keep it maxed at rank 12 while leveling, until all required gear is obtained. Reaching maximum rank in the Soldier Mastery Bar is more important than the Oathkeeper Mastery Bar. You can safely stop advancing the Oathkeeper Mastery Bar at rank 32 and instead focus on improving individual skills until you are ready to invest further into the mastery.
This will be your secondary class, with a focus on Blitz and progressing the Mastery Bar, while allocating one point into most available skills. Blitz should be used as your right mouse button ability to move quickly around the battlefield. Alternatively, Break Morale can be used to reduce enemy health when engaging foes.
Overguard functions as a secondary healing ability and, with the chosen gear, also provides a damage boost. The remaining passive and toggle skills in this class are essential to the build.
Early on, prioritize advancing the Mastery Bar, placing a few points into skills as needed while unlocking later abilities.
This will be your starting class in most cases, with a heavy focus on Righteous Fervor as your main left click ability. As you progress, invest a few points into the various passives and buffs, as they all contribute to the overall effectiveness of the build while leveling the Mastery Bar. Once you reach rank 32, you can safely stop advancing the Mastery Bar and instead focus on increasing the power of your chosen skills. There is only one skill beyond this point that directly impacts a single ability, so improving the overall effectiveness of the rest of the build should take priority.
