Including this build here for its amazing synergy with Osteo Striga (and Thorn, but we’ll use Osteo). Necrotic Grips on their own, are an OK exotic. They grant a small increase to airborn effectiveness of your weapons of sorrow (Osteo/Thorn). More importantly, it now applies poison to each melee attack, charged or uncharged. The poison damage dealt to enemies increases each 0.5 seconds while they take poison damage. If a poisoned enemy dies, they will spread the poison effect within a 5m radius around them. What’s interesting with the Osteo Striga + Necrotic Grips is the poison effect that would normally only effect melee attacks, is now applied to all the Osteo bullets. Effectively, you can spread poison damage from a distance to every enemy you damage. They will also spread the poison to everyone around them. This creates an amazing synergy between exotic and weapons alone. This paired with an oppressive suspending build is one of the best strand builds available.
The Wanderer is a new aspect, but since we don’t really use hatchling, it will be of better use to this build. It now allows threadlings to create tangles (helpful if you’re running a hatchling perk). More importantly, Tangles that you throw will attach themselves to targets and detonate, creating a suspending burst around the detonation. Mindspun Invocation is really important to this build. While you can throw your grenade to do an immediate suspending burst, ideally, we want to be consuming the grenade. Doing so will activate Weaver’s Trance, while this perk is active, all final blows will create a suspending detonation. This paired with the insane enemy control from Osteo + Necrotic grips, not only will you be spreading poison endlessly, but also these suspending detonation. All this combined creates for an insanely oppressive build in any content.
Thread of Continuity increase the duration of all suspend, unravel and sever effects applied to enemies. Quite useful to this build since we use suspend in just about every final blow while Weaver’s Trance is active. Thread of Generation dealing damage will now generate grenade energy. This again, paired with Osteo + Necrotic, will create huge amounts of grenade energy. One of the main reasons this build does not need tier 10 discipline (but if you manage it, all the better) Thread of Mind defeating suspended targets generates class ability energy. Another big source of our ability energy regeneration, since all of our final blows with Weaver’s Trance will generate suspend. Thread of Binding super final blows create a suspending burst from the target. A nice to have to really double down on suspend, and it provides resilience, but this can be swapped out to something else, depending on playstyle.

The best exotic for this build and generally the best weapon overall. Being a weapon of sorrow, it will activate Necrotic Grips exotic effect at range. Further to that, Osteo has its own poison damage it can apply from a distance, doubling up on the poison effect. This creates a very powerful damage over time effect utilizing the poison. This allows the weapon, and build, to be very effective in just about any difficulty of the game.
Currently the strongest strand SMG available. Has create perks and stats for both a threadling build, or general.
A strong strand shotgun should you need to use a exotic heavy. Has great perks available to suit any playstyle
If you can get good perks on it, this strand linear can be a strong contender for your heavy weapon of choice.
Hatchling // Demolitionist
Any weapon with the above perks will benefit the build. Hatchling is always a strong choice with any strand build, even when not running with a specific hatchling build. They are a great source of additional damage at no extra cost of yourself. Demolitionist is a simply perk that produces grenade energy with any final blow. This is ideal for keeping your grenade energy charged throughout any encounter.
Strand Siphon/Harmonic Siphon
Either one of these siphons works for the build. Recommend using the less expensive one that is currently available.
