Point-Cannon Contact Brace

The changes to this exotic piece in S21 made one the strongest melee builds available. Defeating enemies with the Thunderclap ability will provide melee energy. Enemies that are nearby when you use Thunderclap are jolted and will take damage from nearby lightning strikes. As an added bonus, being amplified will increase your damage. With how easy it is to get amplified, it’s best to wait for that before activating your melee if you can/if you want to maximize your damage. The amount of melee energy refunded when you deal final blows with your melee depends on what tier the enemies are and how many are killed with the blast. This build, when used properly, can be used in just about any content of the game reliably. You may want to use a more damage oriented, or support oriented build for raids, but it can be as easy as quick-swapping to Cuirass of the Falling Star when boss damage starts.

Knockout when critically wounding a target, or breaking their shields, your melee attacks are infused with Arc energy that increase the range and damage output it can achieve. Anytime you defeat targets with a melee attack, your health with start regenerating. As an added bonus, you will also be amplified after defeating an enemy with the infused melee. Touch of Thunder will help amplify our grenade’s ability. In this case, the pulse grenade will be able to create Ionic Traces as it damages enemies. Ionic Traces provide energy for all abilities. Your pulse grenade will also increase in damage over time. This paired with Spark of Magnitude work great together to increase your damage output.

Spark of Shock makes your grenade Jolt targets now, enabling great arc offensive damage and creating more Ionic Traces. Spark of Magnitude increases the duration that your grenades last. This means our single grenade throw can Jolt even more targets that walk into it. Spark of Ions will make more Ionic Traces by defeating any Jolted target. This is important as any regeneration to our abilities build into the amount of grenades we can throw. Spark of Feedback after you take melee damage, your outgoing melee damage will be increased for a short while.

Grand Overture

This is a great weapon that has the capabilities of immediately deleting anything in front of it. Since we have Ikelos with voltshot (ideally), we can use an exotic heavy to really help out to deal with bigger tougher targets. Alternatively, you can also use Witherhoard that can apply damage overtime while you use a rocket or any other weapon to compound on the damage done

Ikelos SMG

Ikelos is a very strong SMG that can roll with the Voltshot perk. Highly recommended in this build.


Forbearance is a great wave frame grenade launcher. Able to do great damage and good enemy control.

The Hothead

Hothead is one of the best rocket launchers in the game. One of the best weapons to use against just about any boss.

Perk Recommendation

Voltshot or Demolitionist

Any weapon with Voltshot is ideal for this build since Voltshot can trigger jolt on enemies. Demolitionist is always a great perk to get your grenade back faster with each enemy killed. The more grenades that can be thrown, the better.

Generate class ability energy when dealing melee damage.

Use the appropriate element resistance that corresponds with the activity you are doing.


Arc Weapon Surge
While having active armor charges, your arc weapon damage is increased.

Reduce melee cooldown with each Orb of Power pickup.

Absolution (opt)
Reduce all ability cooldowns with each Orb of Power pickup.


Time Dilation
You can retain armor charges for a longer period of time
