Young Ahamkara Spines

This is one of the strongest solar hunter builds available. This build has the potential to continuously throw out grenades with little difficulty. At its base, Young Ahamkara Spines will increase the duration, and blast radius of your tripmine grenade. To help with your grenade ability uptime, all your ability damage will provide grenade ability energy, you also gain fastball without needing the use the mod. Ability damage will provide a third of your grenade ability in return. When you pair this with your dodge to gain your melee charge back, mods, weapon perks, this is an extremely viable build for just about any content available. This is also a great exotic piece for PvP.

On Your Mark is a simple aspect that increases your weapon handling and reload speed for a short duration. This can stack 3 times, and activating your dodge ability grants max stacks immediately. This bonus is also provided to nearby allies. Knock ‘Em Down is a very strong aspect that compliments just about all solar hunter builds currently available. It has 2 base functions, improving the super being used, and offering a powerful utility to your melee ability. Since we are using blade barrage, we gain the added benefit that it will launch more projectiles, which in turn, means more damage. Secondly, while radiant, all throwing knife final blows will fully refund your melee ability.

Ember of Torches
makes you radiant when you hit enemies with your powered melee attack. Radiant increases your damage and the damage of anyone near you. Ember of Ashes allow you to apply more scorch stacks when you scorch enemies. When enemies get scorched enough, they ignite and explode. Ember of Searing will create Firesprites when you defeat scorched enemies. Ember of Mercy allows you to gain restoration when you revive allies, or collect Firesprites. Ember of Singeing helps with recharging your dodge ability when you scorch enemies.

Great grenade that attaches to surfaces and detonates when enemies pass through it’s damage. Required for this build.

This is an amazing weapon to get ignitions on enemies, and to easily deal with champions, thanks to it’s freezing capabilities. This is a great weapon to pair with a energy weapon that have Incandescant on it, to reliably scorch enemies. Any weapon will do when choosing weapons for this loadout,

Calus Mini-Tool

The Calus Mini-Tool SMG can roll with Incandescant which is very strong with any scorching build. Highly recommended in this build.

Cartesian Coordinate

This is a great rapid-fire fusion rifle that can output great damage. With the Vorpal weapon perk, it is great for bosses.


Cataclysmic is amazing for boss damage. It is particularly powerful for any distant DPS requirement.

Perk Recommendation

Incandescant or Demolitionist


Any weapon with Incandescant is ideal for this build since Incandescant will Scorch targets for each final blow. The more scorch stacks on enemies the better since it helps with solar ignitions as well. You could also get away with Demolitionist, it won’t synergize quite as well with this build, but it will help you keep your grenade energy charged.

Causing damage with your Melee attack will reduce your grenade cooldown

Use the appropriate element resistance that corresponds with the activity you are doing.


Solar Weapon Surge
While having active armor charges, your Solar weapon damage is increased.

Reduce grenade cooldown with each Orb of Power pickup

Absolution (opt)
Reduce all ability cooldowns with each Orb of Power pickup.


Time Dilation
You can retain armor charges for a longer period of time


After using your dodge, your next weapon kill will create a orb of power.
